Old Town Amphitheater – 200th Anniversary of “The Star Spangled Banner”
144 East Black Street, Rock Hill, SC

Rock Hill Schools, in partnership with the City of Rock Hill, the York County Library and the Museum of York County, will hold a special event to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of “The Star Spangled Banner!”

A family event will be held on September 14, 2014 – which marks the 200th Anniversary of Frances Scott Key’s penning of the words that later became the song – “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Children’s activities will begin at 2:30 PM with a short patriotic program and singing of “The Star Spangled Banner” at 4 PM.  The program will be held at the Old Town Amphitheater in Rock Hill with hands on activities for children in and around the York County Library.  The Museum of York County is also planning outdoor games and reenactments from the War of 1812 time period.

Contact Patti Panetti with the City of Rock Hill at patti.panetti@cityofrockhill.com or 329-5625 with questions.
