Recognized as the first nationally-touring, all-female bluegrass band, Della Mae, takes their name from an old tune called “Big Spike Hammer,” a song about a chain-gang man who can’t please his woman, Della Mae. The Nashville based band was nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the Grammy’s in 2014 with “This World Oft Can Be.”
